About Heather Conway
First a few words about all of those letters behind my name.........I have a bachelor's degree in Sociology and two professional, clear teaching credentials. I am also an Internationally Certified Childbirth Educator (ICCE) an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and a soon to be Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula (CBD, CPD). Perhaps my most important credential is the one that is not listed in my title, and that is the "certification" I received when I became a MOM.

Now, a little about myself.....
I have always loved to teach. I have taught elementary school, junior high math and science, childbirth education and lactation, and most importantly, I am busy teaching my children about life and the world we live in.

Pregnancy, childbirth, and lactation have always been very interesting to me and working in this field is very fulfilling. It also gives me flexibility in my schedule which is crucial because it gives me more time to spend with my own babies.

I am blessed to have a supportive, caring husband and friends and family for support. I have a 4 1/2 year old son Ryan and a 2 year old daughter Claire. They truly are the best things that have ever happened to me. Carrying them for nine months, giving birth to them, and breastfeeding them gave me the motivation to pursue a career that has always intrigued me. I have had both medicated and natural labors, and have encountered plenty of pregnancy and parenting discomforts (sciatica, thrush, mastitis). All of my experiences have reminded me that while becoming a parent is endlessly rewarding, it also has its fair share of challenges. I feel very lucky to be able to help parents and their babies resolve some of the challenges they encounter, and to share in the joys they experience as their family grows.
