My name is Sara Hery, and I became a Doula because I think pregnancy and birth are miracles!
I had the opportunity of helping support both my sisters with a total of three births, and I supported my best friend with her two children's births. I was also able to attend a home birth which brought me back to the basics of birth. After those first few births, I was so inspired I looked into doing this work as a career and became a Doula.
I have loved and supported the natural role of birth since I came into this world. I was born in my parents bed, at home in the 70's. My mom, bless her heart, gave birth to me without medication, at 9 pound 10 oz of a baby!
If she can do it, so can you!
With the birth of my son in September 2008, I gained a different prospective on birth. I had visions of how my son’s birth would be and in birth, those visions were guidelines. In my case the circumstances changed, but the outcome of a healthy baby and healthy mom was the bottom line. I strongly believe the team you choose to surround you during this process, is the KEY to having a powerful and remarkable experience whatever the outcome.
My Goal
I hope to help support and inspire parents to seek information and knowledge about their choices around their child’s birth.
Technology today has some cool advances, but with technology there comes excess intervention.
I hope to help provide support in gathering information during each step of their pregnancy and birth process to help them make an informed decision as they need.
I also do post-partum doula work please visit my website for details.
I look forward to speaking to you about your birth visions and goals.
